WFH? It’s time we got better at it

It’s been more than two and a half years since many of us cleared a space on the dining table to create a makeshift office desk, and if you’re still using a similar set-up your neck is probably suffering. Here are some simple ways to make your home-office work for you:

  1. Lift your screen and lower your keyboard & mouse – rather than trying to find a middle ground. A simple setup with a laptop on some books and an external keyboard and mouse can take the strain off your neck and upper shoulders
  2. Some simple stretches – schedule in a few short breaks to squeeze your shoulder-blades together and tuck your chin back. Maybe even stretch your chest muscles near a wall or add in a few twists of your back.
  3. Rowing exercises – strengthening the muscles around your shoulder blades and back will help to support your sitting postures to keep you from slumping or stooping.
  4. Take a holiday – or touch base with your Physiotherapist for a 1:1 or group session
